Work Horse
During a trotting meeting at Gloucester Park last night the trainer-driver of the 10-year-old pacer, Roman Candle, J. Leahy, was called to the Trotting Association office and told that Roman Cand’le was being led around by an attendant in the parade ring. Leahy was surprised He thought Roman Candle was safe at home in his stable. But Roman Candle had broken out of the stable and gone to the horse gate at Gloucester park. He was taken inside by an attendant. —Perth, March 38.
