DEFENCE REVIEW IN CANBERRA

The Australian Government has begun a full review of Australia’s defence forces, their equipment, their capabilities and their needs, according to the Melbourne •“Sun News-Pictorial,’’ in a report from Canberra. The Minister of Defence (Mr Townley) has prepared a report for the Cabinet, based on discussions with service chiefs. The Cabinet last night was believed to have discussed the report, which will be used to determine whether further changes should be made in the present threeyear defence programme.
