MIXED WEEK ON SYDNEY
Falls After Good Rises (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) SYDNEY, March 27. It has been a mixed week on Sydney Stock Exchange, actording to the market review. Good rises last Thursday and Friday have been followed by falls on the first three days this week. Turn-overs remain below average with mining turnover at particularly low levels. There has been quite a flood of interim reports with unfavourable reports appearing much more frequently than was expected. Almost without exception leading stocks have tended to ease with the most prominent generally faring worse. A.C.I. and B.H.P. have fallen back after recent gains. Ardlethan Tin N.L., a new mining float, will be listed on Thursday, March 28, while Macdougalls, office equipment supplier, is to join the list on Tuesday, April 2. Odlin Sales Maintained (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 27. Announcing an interim dividend of 4d a share (payable on April 19 ex April 9), the directors of C. and A. Odlin Timber and Hardware Company, Ltd., say that sales for the first half of the current year have been maintained at a satisfactory level and slightly ahead of the previous year’s comparative figures. “On, the basis of a continuance of present trading conditions for the remaining period of the current year ending June 30. the board expects to be able to recommend a final ordinary dividend of 6d (making 8 1/3 per cent, for the year) which would be in line with the statement made at the time of the bonus share distribution in November of last year,” they said.
