“RUSH JOB”
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Feb. 24.
A new, average-sized house, with three bedrooms, at Birkenhead was painted in four minutes five seconds on Saturday. Forty members of the Northcote Rugby Club wielded the brushes. The “rush job” was an attempt to better the record painting time of five minutes claimed by a group in America. ' It was one of the attractions at the Birkenhead borough’s seventyfifth anniversary celebrations which began on Saturday. Proceeds from the anniversary carnival will go towards a war memorial hail.
