N.Z. LAMB IN CANADA
Barbecue At Winnipeg (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 14. The Meat Producers’ Board will be the host at a New Zealand lamb barbecue in Winnipeg, Canada, on Saturday evening to mark the first official visit to Manitoba by the New Zealand High Commissioner, Mr J. S. Reid. This barbecue will follow the successful occasion organised by the board at Vancouver a few months ago when H.M.N.ZS. Royalist was in port there. That barbecue won wide publicity for New Zealand lamb in the press and on radio and television. The event ha* now been shown on 29 television stations in various parts of Canada and the programme is still in circulation.
The lamb barbecue tn Winnipeg will be held at the Marlborough Hotel in association with the Winnipeg Press Club. The Meat Producers’ Board will supply lamb and four different lamb dishes will be served. There will also be paua soup and Pavlova cake. The invitation list Includes food editors and columnists and meat trade and chain store representatives.
