Empty Pens
There were a few empty pens at the Ashburton county breeders’ ewe fair at Tinwald yesterday. The sheep had been returned to their owners because Department of Agriculture inspectors had found them to be infested with lice. Recently the department issued a warning that if sheep entered for ewe fairs were found to be infested they would have to be withdrawn from the sale.
