SELLING TO JAPAN
Prospects For Dairy Goods
(N^Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) HONG KONG, Jan. 29.
Prospects for New Zealand increasing its trade in dairy products with Japan were good, Mr C. W. Burnard, a New Zealand Dairy Board official, said today. Mr Burnard, who has just completed a tour of Japan to look over the dairying industry there, said he was very impressed with Japanese production, techniques and marketing. He told A.A.P.-Reuter that while the dairy industry in Japan was protected, he thought there was room for expanding the sale of New Zealand milk products there. “But we can’t expect the Japanese to ditch their own dairy industry,” he said.
Mr Bumard has spent several days in Hong Kong, inspecting the milk reconstituting plant in the colony, which the dairy board is running as a joint venture with Chinese interests.
He is leaving this afternoon for Bangkok and Singapore.
