Cricket Burge Hits 163
(N.Z. Pros Ana.—Copyright) BRISBANE, Jan. 38. The Australian tart discarded player, P. Burge, hit a magnificent 163 in 325 minutes fay Queensland in the flirt innings against South Australia today. Burge, whose tally Included 17 fours, and the left-handed, T. Velvets added a State record of 396 for the fourth wicket after Queensland had lost three for 40 in reply to South Australia’s first innings 435. Veivers hit 137, his highest in first-class cricket, in 304 minutes, with 14 fours. But after Burge’s dismissal the tail-end batsmen collapsed and Queensland was all out for 386. At stumps South Australia was eight for two wickets.
