Speedboat Racing APPEARANCE OF VOODOO II
Successful Events At Lake Forsyth More than 30 boat* competed at a very successful speedboat race meeting at Lake Forsyth yesterday. The spectacle of the day was the appearance of Voodoo 11. a 95 c.u.-class boat, powered with a Peugeot motor, owned and driven by W. Stokes. This boat, although it did not compete in any races, gave ample evidence of its terrific speed and excellent cornering, and will undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with. G. White was fortunate to escape serious injury when his boat; Vulcan, nosed downwards into the water and threw him out. It is believed that rough water caused the boat to dip under. Father Christmas arrived on the scene during the afternoon on the cruiser. Champagne. He organised a very popular lolly scramble for the children present.
