MEDICAL STUDY GRANT
Award To Oamaru Doctor (N Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, December 16. An Oamaru medical practitioner. Dr. A. M. Aitken, has been awarded a Nuffield Foundation travelling fellowship and will leave for a six months’ tour of the United States. Canada. and the United Kingdom next June. The chairman of the council of the College of General Practitioners (Dr. H. Williams) said tonight that the fellowship was awarded to New Zealand every four years.
Dr. Aitken sai. tonight that he would be investigating methods of post-graduate education available to general practitioners in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom Dr. Aitken, a member of the council of the College of General Practitioners, was instrumental in the setting up and controlling of the college's medical recording service. This enables doctors to hear recorded lectures by specialists in a certain field. While he is away he will seek to improve liaison with similar recording services in other countries.
