Moulded Products From Wood Pulp

New Zealand Forest Products, Ltd. will join with Australian Paper Manufacturers, Ltd. in the manufacture of solf-nioulded pulp products in New Zealand. The first products will be moulded apple trays for export packaging.
A joint company. Fibre Products (New Zealand), Ltd., is being formed with a nominal capital of £250,000, to be subscribed equally by the two companies. The Australian company will supply the equipment for making trays as part of its contribution to the capital. It will be installed in Auckland about the middle of next year. In the meantime, supplies of the trays are being sent from Melbourne. The managing director of Forest Products (Sir David Henry) said tonight that trials in the past two seasons
in New Zealand had shown that the trays substantially reduced bruising of fruit in transit. Their distribution would be handled by the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation. The directors of the New company will be Messrs E. R. Beattie, commercial director of Australian Paper Manufacturers, Ltd., N. R. Moller, manager of A. P. M. Filbreeraft Pty.,. Ltd., and R. H. Smythe, general managter, and A. W. Mackney, production director, of Forest Products.
