FINANCES OF U.N.
Resolution Tabled
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK. November 29 Britain, the United States and eight other nations today tabled a draft resolution to have the United Nations General Assembly accept a ruling by the World Court that member States are obliged to pay their share of United Nations peace-keeping costs or risk losing their vote.
A separate, related resolution also tabled today in the Assembly's Budgetary Committee, which will take up the crucial issue, would have the assembly reactivate a 15nation working group to look into the whole question of tinancing expensive peacekeeping operations. The Soviet Bloc and several other members have declined to pay their assessed share of expenses for the Middle East and Congo operations of the United Nations. This has been a principal reason for the world body's deep financial difficulties.
