Bobby Stininato (list 51b> scored a surprise ninth-round technical knoek-out when his opponent, the world-rated light-heavy-weight, Dean Bogany (12st 51b) also of the United States could not continue after receiving a thumb in an eve in the professional bout at Ruebv Park Hamilton tonight The end came dramatically when Stininato landed a hard left hook to Bogany's head Borany turned on to the robes with his gloves held to his eyes Stininato threw another left hook as Borany leant with his head through the ropes, but stood off when he saw his opponent was in distress The referee Mr D Corbett beean a compulsory count, but stopped at “three ” moved towards Boranv and when BoSnv exclaimed. "I can’t see." med and -aised Stininato'* arm. Bogany claimed he was blinded in both eyes and was examined bv a doctor m the ring and later in bls dressing room Until this incident the bout had been very even Two judges had Stininato ahead by one point.
