21 Years In Cellar
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MOSCOW. Nov. 16. A World War II Russian Army deserter has lived like a “living corpse" in a cellar under his house for 21 years. The man, Feodor Shernov, aged 58, began his underground life in 1941. because he feared he would be prosecuted for desertion. When authorities found him recently they told him he could have escaped prosecution under a general amnesty in 1953.
