High Praise For

Girl Dancer

GREYMOUTH, August 24. High praise was bestowed upon an Oamaru girl. Ellen >r Kennedy, by the dancing judge at the forty-eighth annual festival which was conducted throughout this week by the Greymouth Competitions Society. The judge. Mrs B. Campbell, of Blenheim, expressed the opinion that Ellenor could hold her own against any company in New Zealand. At the final session. Miss Kennedy was awarded 85 points in the open Highland Fling class, which was an indication of her ability. Prior to that she had won the South Island under-18 Seann Triubhais championship, and also the West Coast Irish Jig championship. Altogether she gained a large number of first platings. The festival concluded last evening with a demonstration concert in St. Columba Hall given by a number of the successful competitors.
