Camel Probably Saved Life
(N.Z.P.A.-Jteuter — Copyright) SYDNEY, August 21. Mr G. Grounds, aged 20. of Sydney, probably owes his life to a camel named Deirdre. Mr Grounds, a rover scout, last night described his 800-mile trek by camel across the parched Simpson desert from Tennant Creek. His water ran out and a waterhole he had relied on was dry. On the third day without water he passed out aboud the camel and awoke the ground beside a small spring. Deirdre had “smelt out” water.
