Prison Term For U.K. Fascist Chief

(N Z.P.A.-Beuter—Copyright) LONDON, August 20. The British Fascist leader, Colin Jordan, a suspended school teacher, was gaoled for two months today. Jordan, leader of the Nationalist Socialist Movement, was found guilty of charges under the Public Order Act.

John Tyndall, the movement's national secretary, was gaoled for six weeks. Both Jordan and Tyndall pleaded not guilty and said they would appeal,

in the particular circumstances. a breach of the peace would appear to have been inevitable Police transcripts of the speeches said to have been made at the meeting were read to a packed Court. The prosecutor said a crowd which rose from 1000 to 5000 had heard Jordan say: “In our democratic society the Jew is like a poisonous maggot feeding on a body in an advanced state of decay.” Jordan also had said: “On September 3, 1939. the blackest day in British history, the long and intensive Jewish campaign was crowned with success and the Jews of the world rejoiced." The police had stopped the meeting three times to preserve order. Finally they had closed it after Jordan said words to the effect that “Hitler was right. Our real enemy is the Jew.” Jordan said in evidence that his purpose was “to conduct a meeting whereby we might put over facts and figures of the extent to which our country has fallen under Jewish control. We had no intention of provoking a disturbance and we had a vested interest in it being orderly.”

The Magistrate told Jordan: “I regard the words that you used as being as bad as anybody could possibly imagine." The prosecution alleged Tyndall had said: “The

sion is taking place contrary to their real wishes because the real rulers of Britain, the Jews, want it. “The Jews want it because the breakdown of racial identity and racial pride, the encouragement of a mongrel population is essential to the long-term security of their overlordship.” Both were granted bail, pending their appeals.
