A Royal New Zealand Air Force Devon, from Wigram, yesterday located the 56ft two-masted trawler, Kawhai, which was overdue at Lytelton since about 8 p m on Thursday from a fishing trip. The sole occupant and owner, Mr E W Williams, of 29 Norwich quay. Lyttelton, brought the Kawhai to Lyttelton under it* own power shortly before 5 pm. yeeterday His trip was normal and the reason for the delay was that be had been sheltering about 11 mile* north of Motunau Island.
The Devon was piloted by Flight Lieutenant B. Flavell. It was joined in its brief aerial teanoh by a National Airways Corporation DC-3 piloted by Captain D. Barr, on a training flight from Harewood.
