(Parliamentary Reporter} WELLINGTON, June 7.
When the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Gotz) rose ■in Parliament this afternoon to reply to a question asked by Mr R M. Macfarlane (Opposition, Christchurch Central) there were cries of “No” from the Opposition The question, which remained unanswered, was whether Mr Gotz “in view of the widespread disappointment among members of the Christchurch City Council and other local bodies concerned, both political groups and numerous citizens." would reconsider his decision not to permit some added voting. facilities at the Christchurch municipal elections in October. The extra facilities were mentioned as being polling booths to be open two days before election day. and also mobile polling booths.
Fire in Panel Shop.—A small rubbish fire in the panel beating premises of Mr G. K. Field at 8 Sissons road was extinguished by units from the St. Albans and Central Fire Stations about 11 p.m. yesterday. There was no damage.
