Crookenden won his fourthround match in the men's singles, and Crookenden and J. B. Souter won a second-round men's doubles match. Results were:— Men's Singles.—Fourth round: W. Bowrey (Australia) beat G Knox (Australia). 8-4, 8-1; I. S Crookenden (New Zealand) beat M. L. Waters (Yorkshire), 6-2. 7-5. Women’s Doubles. Second round: Mis* D. Catt and Miss E. Starkie (Britain) beat Mlsa E. Green and Miss M. A. Smith (New Zealand). 6-1. 6-1; Miss M. Smith (Australia) and Miss J. Bricka (United States) beat Miss D. Cooper and Mis* M. O'Donnell (Britain). 6-1. 6-t; Mrs M. Dupont and Miss M. Varner (United States) beat Miss P. Elton* and Mis* J. Davidson (New Zealand). 6-0. 6-3. Men’s Doubles.—Fleet round: R. G. Clarke and R. N. Hawkes (New Zealand) beat R. Dabbs and G. W. Stubbs (Britain). 6-2. 3-6. 6-4. Second round: I. S Crookenden »nd J. B. Souter (New Zealand) beat K. Carpenter and M. Carpenter (Canada). 6-0. 9-7.
