Transport Licensing Decisions
An application by LaviscaWardrop, Ltd., for an amendment to its continuous goods service licence for exemption from the 40-mile rail restriction for the cartage of fibrous plaster in the No. 9 transport licensing district was refused by the No. 9 Transport Licensing Authority (Mr J. S. Haywood) yesterday. The application was opposed by the Railways Department. A further application by the company for the transfer of a continuous jgoods service licence from Wardrops Fibrous Plaster, Ltd., to Lavisea-Wardrop, Ltd., was granted. The Authority granted the transfer of a continuous goods service licence from Edward Holden Wilde to Kenneth Ernest Poland, of Brooklands, to carry mail in the Styx-Brook-lands district. Robert Lawrence Morison (Mr J. R. Williams) was granted the transfer of a continuous goods service licence from Edwin George Grant, of Little River. Plane Recalled. An R.N.Z.A.F. Bristol Freighter serving with the Far East Air Force has been recalled to Malaya from Wbenuapai because ot the unstable political situation in Southeast Asia.—(P.A.)
