Boy On Cycle Hit By Car
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, May 11. A 10-year-old boy was killed instantly when he was knocked off his bicycle by a car on the Waitara->New Plymouth State highway at 5.45 p.m. today. He was: Phillip David Brand, son of Mr and Mrs M. J. Brand, of Waitara. The car was driven by Ronald Picking, aged 26, of Bell Block.
Rush Job.—The Raglan engineering company, Nottingham, has completed a £7OOO order for 12 lathes for New Zealand in four weeks, in order to beat the threatened dock strike.—(Nottingham, May 10.)
