Otira Gorge Road
Although there was a light fall of snow on the Otira Gorge last week-end, the road is expected to be in fair condition for Easter motoring. The snow has now receded to the shadows and the road is fairly dry apart from two places where the- Ministry of Works is replacing wooden bridges with concrete culverts.
New sealing has been laid to all bridge approaches and railway crossings on either side of the gorge, as well as one and a half miles of sealing on the Waimakariri bridge approach. Strips of sealing have also been laid in the Bealey area.
