AUSTRALIAN ORCHESTRA
Visit To N.Z. For Ballet (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 18 A 32-piece orchestra recruited in Australia will pome to New Zealand next month for performances by the Royal Ballet. The orchestra is being flown here when the Australian season ends at Brisbane on May 1 because no New Zealand orchestras will be availabl. for the ballet’s performances in Auckland and Wellington. The advance director. Mr James Dllena. said today the conductor is Mr Dudley Simpson, of London, with Mr Ralph Mace as assistant conductor. He said that all the scenery with the company was made in London. Stars of the Royal Ballet are Dame Margot Fonteyn and David Blair. There will be four shows in Auckland beginning on May 4 and three in Wellington beginning on May 10 The ballet will then continue its tour with visits to Manila and Hong Kong. The orchestra will return to Australia.
