Continued Awards Of C.W.I. Badges Wanted

The award of good service badges should be continued as a way of conferring an honour on a member who had worked well for Country Women’s Institutes This was decided at the annua) meeting of the Canterbury Federation of Country Women’s Institutes yesterday Nine good service badges were awarded to members of institutes in the federation In the morning the Mayoress <Mrs G. Manning) presented them to Mesdames S. Ritchie <3O years' service), of Burwood; Z Burmeister (27 years), of Glentunnel; H Cooper (26 years), of Sheffield; F. Everett (26 years), of Sheffield; F Campbell (23 years), of Sheffield; E. N Roberts (15 years), of Bryndwr; and B Howell (14 years) of Bryndwr In the afternoon, the president (Mrs L. M. Kellaway) presented similar badges to two members who were unable to attend in the morning. They were Mesdames E Thompson (25 years), of Kirwee, and W K Ogden (12 years), of South Brighton. Mrs Kellaway presented Mrs Manning with a spray and welcomed other guests including Mrs E.
