SENTENCES INCREASED
Two Escapers From Hautu (N.Z. P'-ess Association) ROTORUA. Anril 17. Two Hau‘-i orison far?n escapers Barry Edward Crowe. a”ed 25. and Jam c i Paul Gable Clark, aged 23. were each sentenced to s x months' imorisonment by Mr G J Donne. S.M., in the Masistrate’s Court at Rotorua today for escaping from lawful custody on April 6 The terms are to be cumulative on present sentences Both men also pleaded guilty to breaking and entering a bach at Turangi on April 8 with intent to commit a crime. On this count they were sentenced to s ! x months' imprisonment, to be concurrent Clark is serving a two and three-quarters years’ sentence for bung’ary. theft and conversion and was sent to Hautu from Invercarrill. Crowe was sentenced at Gisborne to 18 months for burglary. This sentence was increased to two and a half years on appeal.
