Entries for doe fiftieth-fes-t’val of the Christchurch Competitions SoCietv which will be held in eight bal’s in Christchurch from May 5 to May 12. are only 150 fewer ‘han for toe centennial frwival in 1W) The total is 3350 from 875 competitors. A prize of £lOO is offered for an aria champic—'Shin: a prize of £5O for a piano championship and £25 each for a ballet and a teo-danc-ing championship. Twentynine scholarships, and 74 trophies and cups will be competed for. Mrs Meryl Good; on, of Wellington, will judge the speed:! competiticns, Mr Harry Brurey. of Wellington the vocal: Mr I. C M Saunders. of Auckland, the instrumental: the ballet and tap dancing will be judged bv Miss Da Katipa. of Auckland: and he national dancing will be judged by Mrs Adeline Hob&s, of Wellington.
