EXAMINATION LEAVE
School Committees"
Suggestion
The granting of two days’ leave on pay to teachers before sitting the first paper of university degree examinations was urged by the annual conference of the Dominion Federation of School Committees’ Associations in Christchurch yesterday. The resolution will be referred to the Minister of Education (Mr Tennent).
The Wanganui association's delegate (Mr W. W. Pot aka) said that one day's leave should be sufficient. He moved an amendment that teachers be granted one day. This was lost, 22 voting for it Mrs G. Boyd, a Canterbury delegate, said that teachers needed the relaxation of at least two days before sitting a university examination.
