Warning To Burglars
(NJZ. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, March 6. The Melbourne “Herald” columnist E. W. Tipping said today: “Some of our burglars might be interested to know that ' Melbourne’s chief burglar - catcher, DetectiveSergeant Arthur Slater, chief of the breaking squad, is back on the job here after two months exchange duty in Auckland. “Sergeant Slater says he kept running into old friends in Auckland. He ran across about 20 well-known housebreakers, who had emigrated from Melbourne to New Zealand when things got a bit too hot for them here last year. He suspects they may have preceded him back to Melbourne.”
