353 Seats To Nehru
(N-ZP-A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW DELHI, Mar. 5. Mr Nehru’s Congress Party, in continuous power since 1947, has won 353 of the 494 elected Lower House seats, according to the latest election results announced tonight
The Communists come second with 29 seats, with other parties and independents following. So far 485 results have been declared. The Chief Election Commissioner today ordered a recount in two constituencies. and polling in seven more has been delayed because of climatic conditions in North-east India
