Narrow Win By Tugot (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MANILA, Feb. 11. The Philippines’ golfer C Tugot caught the Australian K Nagle on the last round today to win the Philippine Open golf championship. He shot a 71 to finish with a four-under-par 284 for the four rounds, the Associated Press reported Nagle, the ieader for two days of the tournament, lost his chance on the 17th hole with a bogey. He finished one stroke behind at 285 For Tugot. it was his sixth Philippine Open championship. The 48-year-old player won his first in 1949 Tugot finished with a 3338 —71 card for the final round, while Nagle ran into a string of five bogeys givmg him 36-40—76. for his 285 The Australian P Thomson. Nagle’s former Canada Cup team-mate, had an even worse day, but still finished third with a one-under-par 287 He was out in 39 and home 'in 38 for a 77 today Fourth place was shared by H Sugimoto, of Japan. R Tuohy of Australia, and Chien Chung Chen of Nationalist China. All had one-over-par 289. The New Zealand lefthander, R. Charles, of Christchurch, finished thirteenth equal after a final round of 77 for an aggregate of 296. The tournament marked the opening of a newly organised 70.000 dollar Far East golf circuit It will continue in Singapore. Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
