CORONATION BOY
Stock Popular At Sales (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) ADELAIDE, Feb. 12. Spirited bidding from inter-state buyers resulted in the first 16 Coronation Boy yearlings being sold for an aggregate of 22,000gns at Coles Brothers Wayville Sales today. The highest price of the morning's session was 3400gns paid by J. B. Cummings for a chestnut filly by Coronation Boy—Storm Gleam. It is believed Cummings was acting for a wealthy Victorian owner. As soon as the Coronation Boy stock entered the ring, bids came from all parts of the sales arena. Inter-state buyers relentlessly outbid local buyers time and again Of the first 16 Coronation Boy yearlings to come under the hammer, nine went to inter-state buyers. The Melbourne trainer, A. Armanasco, bought two of the Coronation Boy yearlings for a total of 4400gns. He went to 1800gns for a bay colit by Coronation Boy from Bavaraia and to 2600gns for Regal Gleam’s sister (Coronation Boy—Tarbet).
