Average 2d per lb Lower (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 12 Wool sold at the second main Auckland wool sale of the 1961-62 season in January fetched 37.13 d per lb, compared with 39.24 d per lb [at the same sale last season. I Mr A. C. Rains, secretary of the Auckland Woolbrokers’ Association, said today that the proceeds from the 'last sale were £2.695.834, comi pared with £2,981,936 in January, 1961. j The 100.429 bales sold in Auckland so far this season have realised £5.276.117. 'against £5,727,059 from the 1105.349 bales sold in the com- ! parable period last season. ' Mr Rains said that there * were still an estimated 110.000 l bales rostered to be sold in Auckland this season. At the Auckland sale in January, 53.481 bales were offered (55,094 last season) and 52,084 of these were sold (54,242). The total weight of wool sold was 17.424,5011 b against 18,237.9901 b. The average weight a bale decreased from 336.11 b to 334.51 b and the average price a bale from £54 19s 6d to £5l 15s 2d. This gave an average price of 37.13 d per lb. compared with 39.24 d last season.
