STRIKE FOR PEACE
Women Picket Wliite House (N.Z.P.A. -Reuter— Copyright) WASHINGTON, Jan. 15. Hundreds of women staged a “strike for peace" outside the White House today in what they claimed was part of an international protest against the arms race. The American housewives, who trudged through drenching winter rain, said other demonstrations were being held in Communist. Western and neutral countries. In their demonstrations the women, carrying home-made signs, released white balloons marked “Peace or Perish.” The women, who call their group “Women International Strike for Peace” (W.1.5.P.), planned to picket both the White House and the Embassy for several hours.
