FLOATING CRANE
Big Unit For Auckland (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 17. A new floating crane for the Auckland Harbour Board, which is being built at Westhaven, will be launched in the first week of April. This was announced today by a representative of A. and G. Price, Ltd., the firm assembling the crane for the German contractors. The crane, which will be the largest of its type constructed in New Zealand, will cost £470,858. Construction began 12 months ago. The crane is being made in prefabricated sections and (hen welded together. The board has begun to drive piles for a 150 ft Slipway for the launching.
