WELLINGTON, January 7. A brigadesman from the Central Fire Station was convicted in the Magistrate’s Court on Saturday on two charges of assaulting two of his senior officers. He was Ron Vincent Janies Brugh, 28. who pleaded guilty to assaulting Edward Alexander Weakley, who is the senior station officer at Central, and Derek Varley, a fire inspection officer. He was convicted and fined £7 10s on each charge. Sergeant K. Ford said Brugh, who was off dutiy and had been drinking, entered the fire engine room looking for an officer with whom he had a personal grudge. Brugh grabbed Weakley by the shirt, demanding to know the whereabouts of the officer. When Varley came over to investigate the disturbance he was pushed away by Brugh, who tore Weakley’s' shirt. The police were called and Brugh was found in a city hotel in a slightly intoxicated condition, said Sergeant Ford. Brugh said that he had lost control and the matter had nothing to do with Varley,
