Double will be the Goldfields Cup and the Flying Handicap. According to his trainer, J. H. Brown. Smart Move will not start in the Goldfields Cup. He injured himself during the running of the Nathans Handicap at Ellerslie on Tuesday, and has had to be let up for a few days. On Purpose, one of L. W. Ford’s team at Matamata, is also unlikely to start in the Goldfields Cup, Blue Beard is expected to miss the second leg of the T.A.B. double, the Flying Handicap. Other unlikely starters are: Prince Mahmoud, Sagan (County Handicap); True Flight (Kopu Highweight); Exador (Flying Handicap); Aces and Eights (Tapu Stakes); Calveron (Puriri Handicap).
