A Public-Spirited Action
Sir, —I would like to record my appreciation of a very public-spirited action by an unknown couple on New Year’s night. While being driven home by a friend along Cashel street in the pouring rain about 11 p.m. we were stopped between Barbadoes street and Fitzgerald avenue by a young woman who was certainly not dressed for protection from the weather. She warned us that a large pothole had formed further along the road. Her companion was away informing the proper authorities so that something would be done about it, and I am sure that their unselfish action saved many cars fronj much damage.—Yours, etc.. THANK YOU. January 4, 1962.
