WAIMAKARIRI HEADWATERS.—Aeron the Watukiriri valley can be seen the road between Canterbury and the West Coast over Arthur's Pass. The peaks beyond are in the Harper and Am headwaters. Because of hoary, snowfalls, uncertain weather, and restricted daylight during the winter months, the held parties can operate only in the summer, and the bearings, heights, and other information obtained by the parties are handed over to draughting and other departments for compiling the maps.
