GRADUATES IN FORESTRY
Last 4-Year Course At Golden Downs (From Out Own Reporter) NELSON, Dec. 20. Graduates of the last fouryears’ woodsmen course to be held at Golden Downs school were presented with certificates last night by the Nelson Conservator of Forests (Mr P. Mapleeden). “You are the last of the old guard.” he told them, explaining that future intakes would spend only two. years at Golden Downs before completing their final two years in different conservancies under actual operational conditions. The Entrican award—donated by Mr A. R. Entrican, former Director-General of Forests—was presented to the best all-round graduate, Mr lan Davidson, of Hokitika, who is to be stationed at Rangiora. Another Canterbury graduate, Mr D. Baxter, of Christchurch, will be stationed at Chnihd.
