ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON

Duties To Begin Next Month The orthopaedic waitinglist for Christchurch public hospitals should be progressively reduced when the North Canterbuiy Hospital Board’s new resident orthopaedic surgeon begins work, the board’s chairman (Dr. L. C. L. Averill) said yesterday. The surgeon, Mr S. M. Cameron, has arrived in New Zealand and is due to take up his duties next month. At present the board has three orthopaedic surgeons, all part-time. Mr Cameron will be an assistant to the senior orthopaedic surgeon (Mr R. Blunden). The waiting time for most orthopaedic cases is several years.
