Yesterday was the secondhottest day this month. At Harewood 81 degrees was recorded at noon and at the Botanic Gardens a maximum temperature of 816 degrees was recorded between noon and 1 p.m. Temperatures built up till after noon, but were dropping by 1 p.m. when 75 degrees was recorded at the airport and 74.2 degrees in the city. The hottest day this month was December 9. when 86.8 degrees was recorded. The average for December is 60.1 degrees, and the hottest day recorded for December was in 1955 at 90.1 degrees.
