Boy Killed At Show
(KX Pre#* -AmscMUo*) TTMABU, Nov. 25j_ A seven-year-oM boy'wax killed at the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association** annual show at Smitofleld about noon yesterday. He was: Derek Bryan Meara, son of Mr and Mrs B. F. Mears, of Mount Somers. Mr and Mrs Mears brought two horses to the show in a heavy two-wheeled float, winch was later pro(>ped on a piece of timber with the draw-bar up in the air. It is understood that the boy was swinging on the drawbar when the float crashed down. The heavy steel draw-bar struck him across the head.
