Airline To Hire British DC-3
“The Press- Special Service AUCKLAND, November 26. After negotiations with th* Royal New Zeeland Air Force and an English charter company. South Pacific Airlines of New Zealand has arranged to lease a 36-aea-er DC-3 airliner from Air Links of London. The airline needs the plane to begin new services on December 17. It recently obtained licences to fly five plans* an extended route*, but did not get an import licence until a week ago. SPAJiZ. wiH hire the airliner for three months, with an option to buy it. Three pilot* wiH come to New Zealand with it. It is due on December 10. The amended timetable on December 17 wiH bring in three new areas, with service* to Gisborne, Taupo (Rangitaiki) and Dunedin.
