IMMIGRATION INCREASE
15,000 Arrive In Six Months
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Nov. 16 New Zealand gained 6000 more immigrants in the six months ended September 31 than in the corresponding period lust year, the Statistics Department reported today Of the 16.000 Immigrants who entered the country only 1350 were assisted by the Government. The number of New Zealanders leaving the Country for * period of more than 12 montte declined by 1500 to 5800, while those departing temporarily totalled more than 25.000, a rise on last year’s figure. Tooriet numbers ftiereased almost 3000 to 10.000. The number of bitilnessmen. entertainer* and educators also rose. Passenger arrivals exceeded departures by 6300. compared with an excess of 5000 departure* in the six months last year. »
