BODIES ON FREIGHTER
Collision At Houston (WZ- Press Assn.—Copyright) HOUSTON, Texas, Nov. 12. A police boarding party found seven bodies In the ■till burning Chinese freighter Union Reliance last night, toe Associated Press reportThree other seamen are believed to have drowned when they jumped overboard after the ship and the Norwegian tanker. Berean collided in Houston’s ship channel on Tuesday. Police last night found two I th ? d «=ad Chinese sailors -ocked in each other’s arms in the ship’s forepeak. Another seaman clutched a stillburning electric torch. The Union Reliance has been burning since it burst into fiames in the collision and ran aground about five miles offshore in Galveston Bay. Yesterday, as the charred hulk cooded sufficiently tugs moved the ship to the’open channel. Nearly 50 ships had been unable to use the channel as the Chinese freighter blocked part of the shipping lane The Berean burned for ■bout six hours after the collision but then moved to an anchorage under its own steam. No-one in the Norwegian merchantman was injured.
