LOADER CATCHES FIRE
Topdressing Pilot Gives Alarm (N.Z. Press Association) WAIPUKURAU, October 12. A topdressing pilot flew several miles to Waipukurau airfield this morning to give the alarm after a tapdressing loader' caught fire on an isolated airstrip in the Farm road area. The loader, owned by the Hawke’s Bay Aerial Topdressing Company, of Hastings, was being used on an airstrip on Mr G. N. Gillin’s property. It burst into flames when the ignition short-circuited. The Waipukurau Fire Brigade saved the petrol tank and much of the equipment.
