Sir,—After seeing the finish of the Tunaru-to-Christchurch road race, I would like to ask the officials what action they took concerning a cer. tain disgusting exhibition of sportsmanship and the bad language used by a com. petitor in front of children. I think it was disgraceful.— Yours, etc., DISGUSTED. October 3. 1961. [The president of th* Christchurch Cycling Club (Mr R. H. Harrison) said: "I can assure the correspondent that the committee and myself were probably mor* genuinely disgusted than anyone in Christchurch last Saturday. Rejfarding th* language, on th* only evidence available the club dealt with this incident severely. Both rider* will b* dealt with on their sportsmanship by the club and later by the North Canterbury Cycling Centre. If ‘Disgusted’ will come out from under his nom-de-plume my telephone number is available for us to have a real discussion: 79-060.”]
