CHRISTMAS MAIL
U.K. Closing Date October 20 Christmas second - class mails for Britain and Europe, excluding Italy, would close at the Christchurch Chief Post Office at 10 a.m. on October 20, the Deputy-Chief Postmaster (Mr J. W. Lincoln) said yesterday. Already. the quantities posted were increasing, and he advised the public to post as early as possible to make sure of meeting the deadline Iffiese second-class mails will leave by the Dominion Monarch from Wellington. Letter mall for the same ship closes in the Christchurch chief office at 2 n.m on October 24.
