STOLEN CAR PARTS
Allegations By Police (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Oct. 5. Detectives last night found nearly £lOOO work of stolen 1 car parts camouflaged into | settings in a specially built bungalow in South Yarra, an inner Melbourne suburb. They say the parts were placed behind drapes and between blankets on beds, stuffed into pillows and in other pots around the bungalow. The bungalow had never been lived in and its purpose was purely io hide the parts, they claim. “Anyone walking into it would have had no idea the parts were there,” the detective said. A workshop where cars were repaired was near the bungalow, he said. Investigation began several months ago after £2OOO worth of car parts disappeared gradually from Spencer Motors, South Melbourne.
Two mechanics, aged 40 and 34, have been charged with larceny.
